During the past week, protest declarations were deposited in the reception room of the Mayor of Rakitovo Municipality by teachers and officials in the municipal schools. The declarations are signed by the Chairpersons of the SBU CO at CITUB. At school meetings, union members decided to protest over the outstanding funds from the SBCO Fund.

The protests are based on art. 60 of the Labour Code, which states: "Each of the parties to the collective agreement, as well as any worker or employee to whom the collective agreement applies, shall be entitled to bring an action before the court for a declaration of invalidity of the collective agreement or of individual clauses thereof, if they contradict the law or circumvent it." The other grounds are a decision of the Municipal Council of February 22 this year. and the collective labor contract concluded between the Municipality and the SBU, according to which the director monitors the monthly payment of the funds for SBKO in the amount of 3% of the salary, and the spending of the funds from the SBKO Fund is carried out by a decision of the General Assembly of the collective. As we have already written, Mayor G. Mihailov announced that a decision to reschedule the funds from the SBKO was taken by the directors of the educational institutions, not the general meetings in the schools. The enlightened workers insist on a solution to the problem within a week and payment of 3% SBKO for 2001.
