The municipal children's complex and the Belmeken Swimming Club did not cheat on the existing tradition of years and again organized a children's Christmas swimming tournament.
The competition was held on December 11 at the Indoor Swimming Pool. 106 participants started in 12 different individual disciplines and relays. In addition to the many Velingrad swimmers, their peers from Swimming Club "Sprint" - Plovdiv with coach Tanya Mesrobovich and Sports Club "GD Sport" - Blagoevgrad with coach Ekaterina Georgieva took part in the competition. The contestants were divided into three age groups: "Golden Fish", "Merry Dolphin" and "Children". For years, the Christmas Swimming Tournament has been held as a celebration and enjoyment of the sport, and points and prizes have given way to the background.
The organizers from ODC - Velingrad with director Lisa Bigerano and PK Belmeken with coaches Velcho Kleshkov and Yordanka Penina provided prizes for all children involved and flags for the team ranking. After the end of the competition, everyone gathered around a buffet for which the sponsors helped: the bread makers from Simid, the snack producers ET Dora Terzieva, the producers of the favorite honey from Premiera 257 and the Municipality of Velingrad.
