The director of OU "Hristo Botev", kv. Kamenitsa Nikolay Marov was elected Teacher of the Year. The title is given for the second consecutive year by the Municipality of Velingrad. All municipal and public schools participate in the nominations, which nominate one of their representatives in the competition. The name of the winner designates a 9-member jury composed of directors of educational institutions.
The announcement of the award took place on a solemn evening at the Center for Business and Information on 22 May. Personally, the mayor Dr. Tsvetan Dafov presented a flower and a diploma to each of the 25 nominated teachers, whom in his speech he called "modern enlighteners and bearers of light". The beautiful prize "Teacher of the Year", also made this year by Georgi Nikolov, was received by the son of Mr. Nikolay Marov, who because of health problems did not attend the ceremony.
For the teachers, the ceremony was saturated with a lot of emotions. Literature teacher Ekaterina Mihailova from Vasil Levski Secondary School won the hall with her words that in class she wants to be an authority like Hadji Gencho, in life to be free and free like Grandpa Liben, and in her heart like Karavelov with his "I love you, my dear Fatherland!". The wonderful voice of the teacher of music from Primary School "Metodi Draginov" Greta Kadyova shed tears many, as well as her "threat": "I will glorify this year also Draginovo in Poland, Austria and Hungary!". Worthy pride sounded in Todorka Lanjova's words when she said that this was the most successful year for TIT "Al. Konstantinov" with the national competition won by their graduates in Varna. Each of the nominated teachers said warm words about their colleagues and about the May 24 holiday, provoked by the leading Nadezhda Nikolova.
With greetings to the principals and teachers, Mrs. Mariana Vladimirova, Director of Humanitarian Policy in the municipality, also turned. She presented the awards from the essay competition on "Bulgarian education - change or proNo", organized by the municipality and the newspaper "Velingrad Tempo News". First prize in the first ever competition between teachers from the municipality won the directorate of SOU "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Maria Polezhenska, second - the English language teacher at TIT "Aleko Konstantinov" rained Razsolkova and third - the educator at OU "Hristo Botev" Angelina Koleva. The cash prizes provided through sponsors the association "Book", and to them the editorial office of "Tempo" added a free one-year subscription to the newspaper.
The evening of the Master started and ended in a song: in the beginning were the songs of the graduates of Yordanka and Ivan Kazaliev from the music school "Zvanche" Veselina Markova, Spasimira Sodeva and Ekaterina Boyadzhieva. A greeting to the teachers was also the essay of the graduate L. Burdarska from the Secondary School "V. Levski". Finally, under the accompaniment of Juliana Kovacheva sang the little ones from the Yuri Gagarin Kindergarten - St. Petka, who were so artistic and sincere that they won the most stormy applause of the hall. The celebration ended with a cocktail provided by the municipality and professionally arranged by the students of TIT "Al. Konstantinov".
The evening was a well-deserved and necessary gesture to the teachers of Velingrad. Not only to the 25 nominees, but through them and to all teachers who love their students and continue to do their work conscientiously in the worst years of exhausting educational reform.
