For the first time since 1990. The MRF won a mandate as a Member of Parliament from the Pazardzhik constituency - this is the result of the marriage on account concluded by the leader of the MRF Ahmed Dogan and the elected leader of the list Fidel Beev. A major share of the 14 211 votes won by the MRF in the district or 11.52% belongs to the municipality of Velingrad. Here for DPS voted 7,701 voters, of which 1045 in Velingrad. So far in parliamentary elections, the movement's candidates have taken in the municipality between 4,000 and 4,500 votes, but the votes received this time for the first time make the DPS the first political force. The paradox is that Fidel Beev will become an MP with his weakest ever election result in the municipality of Velingrad (on two occasions he won the mayoral elections with over 13,000 votes). Nearly 1400 votes from Rakitovo Municipality, 1755 from Nova Mahala, etc., are helping for the MP mandate of the MRF at district level.
Second in the municipality is Coalition for Bulgaria - BSP gathered 4084 votes received mostly in the sections in Velingrad plus few votes from Draginovo, Tsvetino, Pobit Kamak, Vranentsi. NDSV are third with 2722 votes, making a breakthrough in Roma neighborhoods, Draginovo, Krastava, Grashevo, Sarnitsa.
Among the right-wing political forces that pass the 4% barrier, the best result in Velingrad is the BNS with 1221 votes, which gives the coalition fourth place. The BNS is the only political force besides the DPS that managed to get 160 votes in Krastava, whose mayor was a candidate MP. In fifth place is "Attack", for which Velingradians have released 1204 ballots. The UDF garnered 646 votes in the municipality, only 3 less votes won the DSB - 643.
Voter turnout in the municipality of Velingrad was just over 50%, out of the total number of eligible voters 35,760 people on June 25 voted 19,522. The actual votes are 19,211, the invalid 443, and those added to the electoral lists with certificates of voting elsewhere are 204.
The election day proceeded normally from an organizational point of view. In one of the sections, the mechanism of the seal was damaged in the morning, but the committees had tampons and dealt with the situation. A more serious incident occurred in the Roma neighborhood of Bukov Dol in the district. Kamenitsa, from where a signal came that a New Age activist with a red Audi was giving 10 leva to a voter. Representatives of the Coalition for Bulgaria and the police arrived on the spot, and the team of Union Television was attacked by angry residents of the neighborhood. A signal for what happened was given to RIK - Pazardzhik. On the evening of June 25, most of the political parties traditionally waited for the results in the Old Council building. However, the results were such that no party celebrated with complete satisfaction. It was only after midnight that the prepared fireworks were fired from Fidel Beev's building, but among his supporters the mood was not quite festive because of Dogan's order for "several mandates" from Pazardzhisko.
