From 8 to 20 July, Velingrad will be a sunny oasis where creativity and beauty will meet - this was part of the speech with which Vrid Mayor Atanas Vodev on the morning of 8 July announced this year's Celebrations of Culture in Velingrad. The ceremony took place in front of the municipality, where the Representative Brass Orchestra with conductor Dimitar Mechev played the anthems of Bulgaria, the European Union and Velingrad and the flags were raised. The celebration of Velingrad this year was moved by one week because of the parliamentary elections and took place on 9 July. It was opened with performances by the visiting brass orchestras, after which the Representative Brass Orchestra of Velingrad and the City Choir performed the Bulgarian anthem. A great ending to the anthem were the white, green and red balloons that B's little cheerleaders. Maslarova let to the sky. The concert continued with the eternal Vazovo "I am Bulgarian" and the European "Ode to Joy". The program sounded arias of operas and operettas performed by our brass orchestra and soloists of the Plovdiv Musical Theatre. Bulgarian dances and songs were offered by the guests from the Sofia 6 ensemble and our amateurs from the Chepino ensemble. Parts of essays of young Velingradians were combined with a short film screening, and as a real holiday the sky was illuminated by fireworks.
Official guests of the holiday of Velingrad were MPs V. Miltenov, Iv. Kolchakov, the district governor Yves. Dimitrov, and among the spectators was the MP F. Beev. President Georgi Parvanov and MPs from the NDSV sent a congratulatory address to the citizens of Velingrad, and greetings from the tribune were sent by the regional leader of BSP K. Kobakov. A word about the holiday of Velingrad was delivered by the temporary mayor Atanas Vodev. The culmination of the rich festive program was the participation of Sylvia Katsarova and Nelly Rangelova, who sang until late for the residents of Velikograd and the guests of the resort, while the officials were at a cocktail party in the Old Walnut.
On Sunday, an exhibition of paintings from the plein air of local artists was opened within the Feasts, and in the evening on N. The graduates of Yordanka and Ivan Kazaliev from the Zvanche Music School sang.
