The idea to put a sign on the place where centuries ago there was a Christian temple belongs to Hristiana Kaffeydzhieva, Eleonora Kalaydzhieva, Velichka Stamatova and Yordanka Lazarova. It was immediately taken up by the other members of the tourist society and in 2000, on the day of the Christian family 21 November, the "wooden iconostasis" was consecrated. The gratitude ladies started with the names of the masters of the chapel: Lefter Hodzhov and Strahil Arshinkov, who they called "precise masters" because they remained true to their words that "a temple is built precisely, with love and from the heart." Thanks to Malin Yonov and his nephews Antim and Azis from Chepino and his foal, which helped a lot for the removal of the building materials, as well as to Strahil Lazarov, who "did not spare his car for a moment, just so that the work would go on". With the most working days during the excavations and construction are: Velichka Stamatova, Yordanka Lazarova, Boris Zinkov, Hristo Tsanev, Ivan Virovski, Hristo Karamihailov, Alexander Valkov, Vasilka Mehandzhiyska, Yordanka Klincheva. Thanks to Reni and Blago Petlovi and Arch. Manolov, donated the chapel project.
Thanks to the donors of the building materials: Fidel Beev for the cement, Eng.Krastyo Trichkov for the sand, Taushanov company for the construction canvases, Iliya Linchev for the bricks, WOGS "G.Avramov" Yundola, Musa Hodzhov, Vesko Iliev, Tsvetan Varbanov, Eng. (Construction began immediately after St. George's Day and the roof was complicated for Dimitrovden).
In the spring of 2006. The work on the chapel will continue. The joinery was promised by Dimitar Sharkov, the church trustee Pesho - plaster ceiling and cornices, Father Angel has provided through donation the iconostasis. "The people of Velingrad and the municipality will help, we are confident of that. If in this severe flood no one brought us back, then the people will help bring the work to an end. We believe that for the feast of St. Elijah we will consecrate the chapel bearing his name!", say those who lit the others with the idea and turned it into reality.
