13 parties, coalitions and initiative committees went through registration in the Municipal Election Commission to participate in the ‘partial elections for mayor of the municipality, which will be held on September 18.
From August 19, the committee began the roll-call registration of mayoral candidates, which will end on the evening of August 23. So far, Ivan Lebanov from the BSP and two independent candidates have registered to participate: Stoyan Dulev and Nikola Matrov, who are waiting for the official decisions of the DPS and the right-wing parties in their support respectively. Vrid Mayor Atanas Vodev has announced that he will not run.
The final number of mayoral candidates will be made clear on August 23, when the election campaign officially launches. The same day the draw for the ballot numbers of the candidate mayors will be drawn.
